April Challenge - 30 Miles in 30 Days

HERE WE GO FOR APRIL! I hope that all you lovely ladies who have expressed interest are going to be linking up today and telling us your fitness stories for the first week in April. If you are new to the challenge for April then WELCOME! Here are the guidelines: Get in 30 Miles in 30 Days pretty much any way you can. Running, jogging, walking, elliptical, bike - whatever works for your fitness level. Keep track of your miles each week and link up on Thursdays to tell us how you did it. Let's get ready for our summer bodies!
Gotta love the Elle Woods theory! Saving husbands one 30 day challenge at a time! :)
Don't forget to show some love to the sweet Ms. Sarah who created this super cute button for the link up!

So button up and let's keep each other motivated!
The Pink Growl Link Up

The purpose of this challenge is basically to get you active. We are measuring that in miles for this challenge, but we could measure in calories burned or minutes of activity in the future. I struggled with my self esteem and eating during March, but I have high hopes for April! And if you want to stay connected I am posting some updates via Twitter & Instagram {nikkib918} too. I have seen the #30milesin30days hashtag on Twitter and I love it! Makes me happy! Manda was my original partner for this whole challenge and she killed it last month. Now Ms. Kelly has asked to get involved because she had a Fitness Friday linkup. So we will all 3 be promoting the challenge this month - so no excuses for not having a support team!

Updates on This Week's Progress:
  • I have worked out every single day this week - Zumba Mon, Gym Tuesday, At Home Circuit Wed & Gym Thursday!
  • I am still struggling a little with my body being stiff and some shin splints
  • I have been sticking with my Weight Watchers points too so hopefully I will see a loss when I weigh on Monday morning
  • My Fitness Pal & My Polar FT4 HRM are GREAT motivational tools for me! If you want to friend me on MFP my username is {nikkibradley918}.
  • Pinterest has been a great source to find some at-home 30 min or less circuit workouts. I am one of those cheezy people who gets fired up over motivational quotes and you can always find some good ones on there!
  • The weather forecast for this weekend is perfect for an nice outside jog!

My total miles for week 1:
Tuesday 4/2
~1 mile warm up on treadmill 3.5 mph avg pace
~3 miles on stationary bike 15.8-17.5 rpm avg
 = 4 miles total

Thursday 4/4
~2 miles treadmill 5.9 avg pace
= 2 miles total

TOTAL MILES FOR WEEK ONE: 6 miles!
Total Miles for Challenge: 6 miles!
Only 24 more to go in 26 days!

What were your challenges this week?

Way to go! I'm kind of sad I didn't start this earlier to join it with you, but I know there is certainly NO WAY I'm going to run/walk 4 miles today. Not happening, lol. I'm also JEALOUS of your HRM. I'm really wanting to get one to see how many calories I burn in Barre and Exteme Cardio classes, and doing some of my DVDs at home. It seems like seeing the calories burned would help motivate me!!!
