Wedding Wednesday

I borrowed this lovely little checklist from Ms. Megan over at Fried Green Pickles. This Saturday will officially put us at the 6 month out countdown! I'm being honest when I say that makes me both overjoyed and terrified at the same time. Here's a little glimpse at where I stand with the planning - I should be finalizing our DJ & caterer this week. Then the only MAJOR thing left is to book our honeymoon and of course all the little details. When I hear the saying "the devil is in the details" I know that's true! All these little details will be the death of me! My face is 50 kinds of broken out and I have PMS...I do not need to be near a hot glue gun during these stressful times.

EAT, DRINK & GET MARRIED!

I had a wonderful meeting with my "wedding coordinator" of sorts last night at our venue. This is what it looked like at sunset...no filter. I HOPE & PRAY for a gorgeous day for our wedding! It definitely renewed my excitement!

And here is where I'm about to get all emotional on you...
Skye and I are a "good time" couple. We joke a lot, drink party and like to have fun. I think a lot of people don't get to see our sweet side as a couple. Everyone loves Skye - he's very lovable and funny, but not everyone gets to see how sweet he can be to me with a little kiss on my forehead or sitting through Harry Potter movies with me. I want our wedding to be a blast. I want people to say they had the time of their lives at our special day. However, I'm also starting to think that I want to get some emotions involved. I'm not an overly outward emotional person. I found these vows on Pinterest and I cried. This is what I want!

Now I have the bright idea for us to write our own vows. Originally I did not want to do this because I knew I would cry...but I'm thinking it would add a special emotional touch. I can't tell if it's my hormones pushing me to make this decision or the sane me? Did you write your own vows - why or why not? I need help with this decision!

Wedding Wednesday

And here we are at my 2nd Wedding Wednesday! I am beyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyond f@#&*+$king excited to present to you a little sneaky peaky at our engagement pictures! After this post, you have my solemn promise not to mention these engagement pictures again until I get them all back in about 4 weeks. Then I will probably continue to blab about them and show them to you....I know I'm totally that girl and I can't help myself.

All pictures are courtesy of my wonderful photographer Stephanie from Blush Creative Photography {Knoxville, TN}. She also travels around if you are looking for someone for your special occasion. Here's her FB page.

If I had to pick a least favorite, it would be #3. Just because I think our faces look awkward maybe? And I think my legs look chubby in #3 - just sayin. I love them all though! I CANNOT wait to see the rest in a few weeks, plus she's also designing our custom save the date design!
So, what do ya think?? Worth the wait???

Wedding Wednesday!

Business first -My lovely little Brie from Sophistifunk is hosting a pretty awesome giveaway! Go enter that and then come back here to read my first (of probably many) Wedding Wednesday posts! I will wait, go ahead...

Oh, and by the way isn't she so sophistifunky? You can't help but just adore her!

Now on with the show...
My first Wedding Wednesday post! EEK! I feel like I am officially actually legitimately in real life going to be married now that I have booked our venue (and of course because I'm doing a Wedding Wednesday post)! It's quite exciting!

Without further adieu, I present to you Nikki & Skye's wedding venue -- Sequoyah Marina in Norris, TN. AKA our home away from home, our boat dock.

Originally, before I was ever presented with 10 million other options we wanted something on the water. We are water people, we both grew up on the lake, we spend lots and lots of hours here and it's what we love - so it made sense. We want to live here someday, hopefully in the not so distant future. So I ended up finding out perfect wedding place smack dab under my nose.

We will do our actual ceremony outside on the dock. This will not be open to the public so nobody will be walking around the dock photobombing us.

Then we will proceed upstairs for the party reception! A girl I went to high school with recently got married here, and here are a few of my favorite shots from her wedding. This is where we keep our boat so I hope we can get a boat getaway shot like they did! Love it! She and I are having lunch next week to discuss everything she loved and wanted to change about her wedding so maybe I can learn from her.

Now I feel like the real wedding planning, the fun detailed stuff, can begin. I feel so relieved now that this part is finalized. So what do you guys think? It fits us, or what you know of us, right?

283 Days until Nikki & Skye Get Hitched!
