Weekend Update

Even though it's Tuesday, it still feels like Monday! Yes, I'm a whiny baby today. I could REALLY get used to not having to work on Mondays. I feel like I'm a funk right now - a cloud of disorganization that is just killing my vibe. The bottom level of my house is still floor-less & door-less and it's driving me bonkers. I spent yesterday trying to get my kitchen back in order - as best I can right now, but it didn't really help me feel better. I've moved into my new office at work, but it still doesn't quite feel like mine yet. I just feel a little disheveled in all areas of my life.

 

But do you know what ALWAYS makes me a happy girl?

 

yep, Luke Bryan! And he did not disappoint Saturday night. We had so much fun! I want to go back and do it all again.

Don't mind me while I'm over here being a baby about having to work today. Only 18 more work days until the next holiday! WHOOO HOOOO!

Weekend Update

WHEW I can tell it's Monday and this Monday ain't no joke! East Tennessee (along with everywhere else around the country) is experiencing quite the cold front right now. I'm all for snow, but I'm not a fan of this ice crap and only 1 inch of snow. NO THANK YOU! Tonight it's supposed to get down to a wind chill of -5 degrees. I'm not sure it's been that cold here within my lifetime. It's crazy! And freezing temps like these make my work day VERY interesting in the natural gas business. Heating people's homes is our main priority right now. I'm rambling.... I just got out of my first REAL staff meeting in my new position at work.

 

I can't remember if I've blogged about this or not, but I got a promotion at work! It's pretty exciting and includes a bigger office and lots of travel so you won't catch me complaining. 2014 is really going to be a fantastic year for me, I can already tell. I have a special post coming up tomorrow that will touch more on this and answered prayers. So many exciting things are shaping up in my life right now, it's really awesome to see things play out and I CANNOT wait to see what else unfolds. (fingers crossed for man of my dreams!)

 

And speaking of fantastic things...I found this nice little BuzzFeed the other day about being 29. If you have reached the your late 20's then go ahead and check it out. I dare you to tell me one thing that isn't absolutely spot on!

 

My weekend was awesome and pretty low key. That's seriously what I say about every weekend these days. I saw Anchorman 2 Friday night, and loved it. Not quite as good as the first one, in my opinion but still hilarious. I may or may not still have a slight crush on Brian Fantana.

 

 

I'm on the go today, so that's about all I have for you. But happy Monday and I hope everyone is safe and warm out there!

 

 

Weekend Update

This is gonna be short & to the point...
WHY IS IT MONDAY ALREADY?!?!? I took the most perfect Sunday afternoon nap yesterday for 2 hours and it came back to laugh in my face at 1am this morning when I couldn't fall asleep.

 

My weekend was pretty great. Work Christmas party Friday night, walked in a parade Saturday night then yesterday was a huge celebration with my re-baptism. It was a low-key but filled with friends and family. It's so funny how I have become such a homebody these days. This time last year you couldn't keep me at home on the weekends, I was a wild woman still trying to find my happy. I know I am getting older (and maybe lame) because I actually look forward to going home and cuddling up with Tilly to watch How I Met Your Mother reruns. Maybe it's because it has rained for a week straight. Whatever the reason, I am definitely not mad about it.

Thank you all for your sweet comments about my baptism from Friday! It means so much to me to have your support. Y'all are the best! But surely you know that by now, since I cannot stop saying it! :) Some of my closest friends and family came to watch me too. It was such a time of happiness!

Oh yeah and I lost 5 lbs last week!!!! That's a total of 11 lbs down. It feels really good, but I still have a long way to go. Baby steps. I just want to whine sometimes and say that weight loss is tough, but I won't today. I'll just take my 11 lbs and smile!

Thanksgiving Weekend Update

 

Few words in the English language are more desirable to my ears than: 4 day weekend. I can't even remember the last time I had 4 days in a row off. It was so glorious! And I survived Thanksgiving with my family!!!! YIPEE! It actually wasn't bad at all. My mom had her moments, but we spent a lot of time at her house going through old pictures - which is one of my favorite things to do. No big blow ups and no tears this year - CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?!?!? It's a Thanksgiving miracle!

 

I was pretty lazy most of the weekend. I did clean my house, rearrange my bedroom and living room furniture - by myself, and put up all my Christmas decorations though. But I also totally got sucked into How I Met Your Mother, Parks & Recreations and Harry Potter marathons. Yoga pants were my best friend. I laughed so hard at one episode of Parks & Rec, I spit out my wine. I didn't hate it! Being lazy is my new thing...apparently I need more friends.

 

Saturday was the PERFECT day to be a Vol fan! Alabama lost the Iron Bowl, Florida lost to FSU and we beat Kentucky! The ultimate trifecta. AND HOLY CRAP THE WALKING DEAD!!!! I seriously cannot wait until February now.

Weekend Update

It's MONDAY! I'm really not even mad about because it's a short week and I know we can all survive this one. Last night I went to see Catching Fire - OH MY GOSH it was amazing! I would say it's one of the very BEST movies based on a book series that I have ever seen. The movie captures the emotion from the book so well! Not gonna lie, I cried like 5x! And you know on Friday when I was talking about my crush on Peeta? I just don't think I'll be able to date again until Peeta comes along in my life. I wish I was kidding. Don't get me wrong, Gale is HOT (helllllllo single Liam!) but Peeta just has my heart.

 

 

Now I am going to overload you with my Nashville pictures from the blate girls weekend! It was SO MUCH FUN!!!!! (and very very cold!) These girls are so amazing and it's crazy how you can become so close with people you've never met, and then when you met them it feels like you've known them your whole life. Weekend Shenanigans

Crazy, hectic, amazing - all appropriate words you could use to describe my weekend. I had lots of friends in town for the UT vs. SC game and lots of plans to see everybody. It was a gorgeous fall weekend too, actually even a little on the chilly side in the 60's. But I'm playing that game where I see how long I can hold out on turning on my heat....when it's 61 degrees inside my house. What a crazy football weekend too, right??! I mean my Vols actually beat a ranked opponent!!!! It was insane, and I loved every second of it!!!

Weekend Update...on a Tuesday

Howdy little friends! I'm doing my weekend update on a Tuesday because I was off work yesterday to take a friend to get her boobies done and I'm a wee bit behind. My weekend was full of lots of wedding shenanigans, and thankfully we all survived! It ended up being an absolutely gorgeous wedding, with perfect weather. Some drama went down...of course...and yours truly lost her RayBans on the farm, but the good news is it's OVER!

 

And just so you know I haven't even found the time to cut my bangs yet...but it's coming!

We all used to have so much fun with each other just going out dancing all night, or even at each other's houses just being silly. It was so good to catch up with these girls!

Weekend Shenanigans

 

I'm in an "I hate Monday's" mood today! I only got maybe a couple hours of sleep last night. My weekend in sports was heartbreaking! My Vols fought SO HARD on Saturday and they deserved to win that game, but sadly ending up losing 34-31 in OT to Georgia. It's been a very long time since I've seen Neyland Stadium that excited though. Then the Braves last night, I mean what the hell kinda joke was that?? Torture. My poor voice has suffered this entire weekend.

 

BUT I got the spend alllllll day Saturday with my love bug Alexa so I really can't complain! You know when you picture a bloggy friend in your head? Well Alexa (& Glenn) were EXACTLY how I pictured them - Extreme Vol fans, fun loving, hilarious, pretty people, perfect couple, sweethearts. I felt like I had known them for years and we had so much fun together! Despite the sweat we endured on Saturday, we had AMAZING seats for the game! I miss them already!! Blogging is such an amazing thing how it can bring two people together who were just meant to be friends in real life. I am blessed with THE BEST bloggy loves!!

Weekend Shenanigans!

 

There were LOTS of shenanigans to speak of this weekend! I don't even want to talk about the Tennessee game because it was just U-G-L-Y!! My best girls surprised me Saturday night with a pre-bday dinner and drinks! They are just the sweetest! I have so many people in my life right now who just love to spoil me and make me feel loved when I need it most. It's such a blessing! Then I went to my brother's bonfire Saturday night, absolutely PERFECT weather for a bonfire. Yesterday called for church & lunch, then a niccccce nap. I have every intention of going out to run in the perfect weather, but football wouldn't allow it. It was a pretty perfect weekend!

Keepin it short & sweet today! Here's a quick glimpse at my weekend via Instagram {You can find me @nikkib918}. My weekend was crazy busy, I felt like a chicken with it's head cut off running around the whole time. So no naps and no rest, but I was blessed with a fun one! Friday night at my friend's dirty thirty party was an absolute blast and the free beer didn't hurt! This idiot had the bright idea to make a hair appointment at 9am the following morning so I was struggling a little bit. But I have fresh hair and y'all know nothing beats that feeling. It's BLONDE too! I kept having to do double takes in the mirror Sat night because it was catching me off guard. Survived the bachelorette party Saturday night, and no midgets were harmed or molested. And survived my first kickball practice Sunday in the sweltering heat. Seriously, I thought it was getting close to fall temps?? 

 

Absolutely obsessed with this. DELISH!
