Mr. Luke Bryan - This is Our Plea

From my sweet love Hallie's blog:

Dearest Mr. Thomas Luther "Luke" Bryan; This is my creative plea. I have written you a letter using all the titles from every song on your albums (including your newest/best release "crash my party"), I ask that you give me, and my Bloggy BFF Nikki the chance to attend your Tampa Bay Show on October 25, 2013.

I apologize for having to take your time, I don't want to be a buzzkill, I know you are probably drinking beer and wastin' bullets, or playing around with your tackle box trying to catch some fish on Mukalee Creek Water because well, that is what a country man does!

but I am Hallie...

I am writing you today because every time I see you do this...
via
You make me want to hop over the river, through the woods, and to your nearest concert.
Which leads me to my point....I am dying to make it to your sold out Tampa (suntan city) show in October, but I CANNOT find tickets...ANYWHERE. So as I sit and sulk in my tailgate blues I thought to myself why not ask Mr. Luke Bryan himself. The man who's songs got me through my "harvest" times, who's songs do nothing but make me want to drink a beer, shake the sand, and just have a crazy, wild weekend.
Do I sound a bit crazy? I am sorry,  I am just a Country Girl, who prays about everything and who knows what country is, And you Mr. Luke Bryan are country! (I already said that , but I did it again.)

I am DYING to  attend your concert because  I know you are going to be there. I don't want to crash your party (even though you said I could) I just want to drink a beer, listen to first love song, and act too damn young.

It is a for Shore Thing that you sir, are my favorite cold beer drinker, but there is one other girl who is drunk on you, almost as much as I am. & that is my Blood Brother Sister from Tennessee, Ms. Nikki

Now I know at this point you probably want to shut it down, but please don't say "goodbye girl" to us quite yet. See Nikki & I met one day while I was chuggin' along reading blogs. It was there that fell in love with a girl, and we became instant best friends. We grew up in small towns, we rode in trucks, and maybe I can tell you more a little bit later on. My point is, we have yet to meet in real life. We have always shared a love for you Mr. Bryan, and even though we do get quite jealous when someone else calling you baby, We have learned to share.

We both eagerly purchased your Crash My Party CD yesterday, and I cannot wait to play it again. I love the song Roller Coaster, it totally reminds me of my love in a college town, and the nights all my friends say they had to take my drunk ass home too many times, but hey, that's my kinda night. I know you have been there done that!

Now  I know this letter is a bit ridiculous, but how else could we stand out? We have tweeted you a thousand times but we just get faded away by the thousand other crazy sorority girls (like us) who want to win your heart.

If we don't get to see you live, together, we mind as well just kiss tomorrow goodbye as all our Luke Bryan dreams will be sadly shattered! I think if you help us see your show, that Nikki, You, and I, together, we run this town!
I see you think rain is a good thing, perfect. Because Rain or Shine Ms. Nikki and I will be front row at your show, and if you ain't here to party? Don't worry, your first beer will be on us, and you better not pull the "just a sip" move, because you have to shotgun the whole thing. We DON'T want this night to end!

If you can't grant us this wish, we understand. Our hearts may be broken like a spring-break up, but I'll stay me, and Nikki will stay her, and by that we mean we will always love you. Even when we grow up,  retire our dirt road diary, have baby's on the way, get all old and grey and greet our guests with a sign that says "Welcome to the Farm". You, Mr. Bryan will still be our one true love.
I know some may think we may be dreaming too big, but we tell them all "You don't know jack!",  "Ya'll can have this town, We just want me some Luke Bryan tickets."

Dear Bloggy friends; Please help us get this message to Mr. Luke Bryan! Tag @lukebryanonline and hashtag #dearmrbryan plea to him to read our post!

Friday Fun!

I am quite sure it's impossible for me to be in a bad mood on Fridays. I realize that it's still a work day, but I have a set routine for the most part at work on Fridays, and it's a cake day. It's a little bit easier to get up when my alarm goes off at 6:15am knowing that I have a weekend in sight. Work your magic Friday, I ain't mad at ya!

Let's review the bad things from this week: My Braves lost TWICE to the freaking Mets...didn't even know that was possible, but yep it happened. Tim Hudson caught a nasty little injury the other night during the game (the one we actually won) and that video kept popping up alllllll over Twitter. I couldn't handle it!

Which brings me to, I have a confession. I'm obsessed with Twitter. If you are too, then find me here and we can tweet away together. Warning: I will probably blow up your feed though during The Voice, awards shows, country songs and other random moments. Twitter is my shit, Facebook is practically dead to me.

Something monumental happened yesterday - I skipped Thirsty Thursday to go workout. It was a Christmas in July miracle. I have been on my shit this week with working out and eating healthy and I know I will be having a few drinks on Saturday so like the responsible adult that I have suddenly become am I chose to go workout last night instead of getting happy. I even impressed myself with that move!

And to close this completely random post, I bring you Whitney and my #backthatazzup Friday selection - I am almost ashamed to say I love this song.... but then again there ain't no shame in my game.

Thursday Things to Love

I haven't done a Thursday Things to Love post in a while....so here ya go. Basically I have ZERO attention span today and I am worthless. All I can think about is...well you know what it is...

Um hello Luke Bryan's crotch...hello there!
  • LB DAY IS TOMORROW!!!!!!!!! Hello Louisville! Hello LB & Florida Georgia Line! (Sadly, I'm not as excited about Thompson Square, even though I like them) I had a dream that I hooked up with one of the guys from FL/GA Line (hello slut!) and we got to meet LB - that is taking one for the team right there. Hello road trip! Hello treats to stuff my boots for the concert!
  • I have been in the gym three days this week by 5:30am. It makes my day fabulous, honestly it does. I have been to a Zumba class. I have been using myFitnessPal and eating healthy. And because of all that I have sore butt cheeks and lost 2 lbs. I'll take it!
New lock screen I made for my phone
  • My basketball Vols are on a winning streak! First Kentucky last weekend, then LSU, I think Texas A&M shall be next! Lezdoit! I'm pretty sure it has something to do with Skylar McBee's sweet facial hair designs... GO VOLS!
  • You know I have to leave you on an LB note...I'm obsessed, forgive me. I'm sure next week I'll tell you all about it and you will roll your eyes and tell me to STFU! One of my favorite videos of him covering Adele...

Y'all will have to keep up with me on Twitter & Instagram {nikkib918} this weekend to see all my pics! PEACE, LOVE & LUKE BRYAN!

I promise next week I will try to cool it.... well probably not next week because I'll be telling you alllllll about the concert, but the week after. That's fair!

The Wild & Wonderful Pink Growl

I have a lot of new followers up in here and you guys might not know all the wonderful & weird things that make me the girl behind The Pink Growl. I haven’t done a “getting to know me” type of post in a while so I wanted to do a refresher. Thanks to all you newbies for following along! Here are a few facts that might help you get to know me better.

I started my blog last September. I had read some fabulous blogs for years and I just wanted to have my own little piece of the internet too. I’m not a fashion blogger, a mommy blogger or any type of blogger in particular. No OOTD posts or kids running around these parts. I just write about my life. I definitely try to keep it real and talk about even the ugly and not so happy things in my life because that’s real life. Some of my favorite topics include: Luke Bryan, Tilly (my dog), planning for my upcoming wedding & weekends on the lake.
I’m Southern to my core, accent and all. Born & raised in East Tennessee so naturally I’m a Tennessee Alum. Go Vols!

My birthday is September 18th (2 days ago) and I cannot deny that I’m a virgo.

I’m gettin’ hitched to my amazing boyfriend of 8 years on 4/27/13. You can read our Love Story here - {Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Proposal}. It’s not all sunshine & rainbows all day every day but he’s definitely the person I want to wake up to every morning. (Technically not every morning – he’s a cop so his schedule rotates every 10 days so I spend some nights solo). He laughs at my jokes, spoils me rotten and supports me through everything. I think I will keep him forever and ever!

I work in the natural gas industry. I do marketing & business development for a public utility company.

I laugh at myself…a lot! {For example: My beautiful pup’s name is Tilly. Last week I called her TITTY accidentally and laughed about it for hours days. Don’t believe me? Ask my friend Lauran!}
I am obsessed with leopard print, gold, sequins, Coach, bargains, Pomeranians, the Real Housewives of everywhere, The Voice, college football, motocross racing and Chick-Fil-A.

I love blogging because I have met some truly amazing ladies! It’s strange to say I have good friends that I’ve never met in real life, but it’s very true. The support & camaraderie that blogging has provided me is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. They help me through anything, no matter how far away we are. I love doing linkups because it introduces me to new bloggers!

I love to read. I don’t spend a lot of money on clothes or makeup. Walgreens is one of my favorite places to spend my lunch hour. I’m a Miller Lite kinda girl. I battle my weight and breakouts constantly. My hair is ever changing. I’m a band wagon jumper. I tell it like it is. But none of that stuff matters to you if you really know and love me.

Want more? You can also find me on

Workout Motivation & A New Baby

One of my very best friends had her baby yesterday!! This is her 2nd kiddo, so she's basically an old pro now. She found out she was pregnant within a 2 weeks of conception so we feel like this girl has been with child FORVER! They are like family to us and I can't wait to be a special part of this baby's life. If he's half as fun and cute as his older brother then he'll fit right in. He has my heart already! There's nothing like the feeling of holding a precious little new born baby.

I already told Skye that I will probably get baby fever for a couple of weeks...scary, I know.
Gunner Gaines 7 lbs. 6oz. 19.5 inches long born 7/16/12

I'm sure you will see all kinds of cute little baby pictures of Gunner in the days to come.

And moving right along...I told you yesterday about my renewed workout efforts that are taking place. I wanted to share with you some of my updated running playlist. I'm the kind of girl who has to have very fast paced rap-style music to run to. I need something with a fast beat to keep me going when I'm running. (If I'm just doing strength training then I can listen to just about anything that's semi-fast paced). So here's what I am listening to currently when I run:

And of course I have to end it with Like A Boss because that's just how I roll! haha

Just as a side note here too, some of these songs have offensive lyrics, I don't mind because I'm pretty gangsta like that, but if you don't like cussing, etc. then some of these just won't work for you. Just had to warn you! Music is a huge part of keeping me going when I run, so I hope that this helps you if you're struggling with some motivational music.

I need a new pair of running shoes too, and I want these! Love the hot pink. Does anybody actually own these and run in them - do you love them? Usually I'm not a Nike girl when it comes to running shoes, I stick more with Asics. But for these cuties, I might make an exception.

Game Plan for GFC Going Away

As a fairly new blogger, I can't deny that I'm a little squeamish about Google Friend Connect going away on March 1st. Which by the way March 1st is this Thursday! Eek!! I still feel like I don't know all the details about how this will affect my blog. I'm just hoping that it doesn't cause me to lose any of my follower friends. #1 I can't afford to lose any because I don't have many and #2 I love all my bloggy friends and I don't want to lose touch with anyone.

I joined Linky Followers - but I'm not crazy about it so far. I had signed up on BlogLovin', but I haven't really used it yet. I'm not sure which one I should go with - any advice???

You can always find me on Twitter too!

Those of you who are Blogger people - what is your game plan for GFC going away? Help me!

Wrap It Up Recap - Get it? Wrap? Christmas? Nevermind...

My posts have been filled with pictures lately so I wanted to actually throw some words down this morning. How are you? Have you missed me? I've missed writing and catching up on my blogs that I read daily.

Sadly Christmas is over... but I am very much looking forward to a new year! 2012 just looks like a nice round number year - except for that whole "the Mayan calendar says that world will end thing". Wasn't that the same deal with Y2K? I can't remember because I was in elementary school then, but I remember people freaking out about it. For what it's worth - I'm not really ready for the world to end. I need to get married and travel and have a baby before we talk about all that stuff. I personally feel like that might be bullshit, but I guess we will soon find out.

Speaking of getting married... guess how many engagements sprung up around me over the holiday break? THREE!! They are dropping like flies, and of course my little green eyed jealousy monster is feeling frisky over this news. Skye and I had a pretty serious discussion about making this move recently and I'm feeling much better about it. I know he loves me, really he's the best guy I could ask for. And he reminded me - funny how quickly I had forgotten - that for the years I was the one pumping the brakes on getting engaged. I just didn't want to be that "typical" girl who was engaged and married before I could even legally drink! I'm a few years past that point now though, so I think it's safe for us to explore moving forward in our relationship. (Maybe that's not typical where you live to get married before you're legal. Welcome to the South - where you can get married at 16 with parental consent. I've heard from my transplant friends from the North that it's far worse here than in other areas. Obviously, I'm just living in the wrong part of the nation right now.)

I hope you were good little boys & girls and Santa brought you everything your little hearts desired. Santa - aka Skye - is always too good to me and did not let me down with that trend this year. My big present from my Daddy was my iPhone4s - Love it! Me and Siri were fast friends and our love affair just grows with each passing day. I downloaded this Instagram app that I've heard SO much about from all my iPhone friends and again, was not disappointed. I have been playing with this phone non-stop since last Thursday. I feel like a kid again playing with my new shiny Christmas toy! I even got a sparkly new phone cover -

I've been praying for snow because I'm one of those Southern oddities that actually enjoys the cold weather. No such luck though it's been about 50-60 degrees here for a few weeks now. One of the reasons I like the cold weather is because I love snowboarding. You can't really snowboard when it's not even cold enough for the local ski resorts to blow snow - we may have to head north or west this year just to get some time on the slopes. We get a season pass every year to a local resort - Ober Gatlinburg - and it's not even open yet! Granted, it's a small little mountain with only about 6 runs, but it's 30 minutes away and easy access for weeknights. We love it there and it works for cheap and convenient. However, I think the weather gods have been confused by my snow dances because they've sent rain. Normally, this would suck; however today I was glad because I got to wear my new Coach rain boots! I feel so sassy in them and in my eyes, you can NEVER go wrong with Coach.

The holiday drama in my family was kept to a very bare minimum this year...surprisingly! My mother actually acted normal, my step-brothers were calm and not wild animals, my (evil) step-mother was pleasant and easy to get along with, my dad is feeling better with each passing day, and Skye and I shared a few days off together. I'm not sure it could have been a better holiday. My neighbor who lives across the street - and is currently on his 2nd tour of duty in Afghanistan - is coming home this week! He's been gone for about 9 months and had a new born baby in September that he is yet to meet. As lucky as I am to have my family all together this Christmas, I still try to keep in mind those - like my neighbor's family- who are separated for the holidays.

I love the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, with all the get togethers and seeing old friends and family - but I am certainly ready for my schedule to get back to normalcy. Skye is on day shift this week so it almost feels normal again - except for a short work week, which is never a bad thing. We haven't done our family dinner with friends in about 3 weeks and we are on track for that again this week too. We have only had this family dinner tradition since about August when Skye was still in the academy, but I've genuinely missed it these last 3 weeks while the boys have been getting adjusted to their new rotating schedules. There's nothing like gathering with good friends over good food!

I'm all obsessed with my Twitter account again too. It's just easier for me than Facebook these days. Follow me! @nikkib918 and I will likely return the favor - it's fun! :)

As you can tell, I'm feeling quite sporadic this morning. So tell me, what do you think about the world ending in 2012?? And what are you New Years plans?? I don't have any solid plans yet, but I'm looking for an exciting idea! Snowboarding was the original plan, but with this weather I'm not sure I can make that happen.
