These Are My Confessions...

"Just when I thought I said all I could say..."

I just feel the need to get some recent confessions off my chest. I miss the Confessions link ups (they are probably still around...I'm just out of the bloggy loop).

 

I confess...

 

It annoys me that there are always haters in life.

 

I haven't been drinking hardly any wine at all lately, who am I? Summer brings out my inner beer lover.

 

Humidity is the devil. You'd think living in the South my whole life I'd be used it to... but you never get used to frizzy hair and sticky sweat.

You know Lebron is my boo... but I really can't be mad about the Warriors winning it all last night. If you don't have love for Steph Curry then you ain't living right because that boy is incredible. This whole playoff series was so fun to watch them battle back and forth.

 

And now that basketball is over...
80 days until College Football is back! Can I get an AMEN??

This guy has truly stolen my heart, y'all. He's just everything that is precious and I pretty much spend all my time with him these days. I'm completely that annoying girl who is newly in love. I apologize for blowing up your Instagram, Twitter & Facebook feeds with my heart eyed emojis for him. #sorrynotsorry

I have an obsession with neon bathing suit pieces. (Just a quick poll - does anybody even wear matchy bikini sets anymore? I am all about that mix & match life.)

Speaking of obsessions... The Weeknd and Meek Mill are high on my list right now. And little miss Kelsea Ballerini and her "Love Me Like You Mean It" jam. FYI - she's from Knoxville!

Again with neons & obsessions, I got a new pair of running shoes. You know, because all that running I've been doing??? (jokes) I'm a slacker and I've only used them once, but I love them. this is the 2nd pair of neon yellow and pink Asics I've had so I guess you could say I'm a big fan.

I'm finally reading The Andy Cohen Diaries. I love that man and all his Bravo magic - especially those crazy housewives. Can he be my spirit animal? The book is really good, so far.

Last Random Wednesday for 2013

You like that creative title, don't ya?? My homegirl Shanna is having her last Random Wednesday link up for 2013 so I had to jump in there with her. Plus, I have LOTS to update you on! Can you believe that one week from today is Christmas Eve? Go home 2013, you are DRUNK and have flown by.

 

Let's start with my Louisville trip - It was sooo amazing! A 4 day weekend was JUST what this girl needed to recharge myself before the holidays. Manda and I had a little alcohol fueled fun! We hit up the Marker's Mark Distillery tour and got to taste lots of yummy bourbon and of course ended our weekend with Mr. JT. Here's my weekend recap via IG pics {nikkib918}

Manda took me to her church Sunday and it was so awesome! I loved the service, and they have a coffee bar!

 

Long weekends are the best, but coming home is nice too. I still have plenty of Christmas shopping to do, and lots of volunteer work coming up for our Christmas stuff at church so I'll be a busy little bee the next week.

 

I just want to take a moment and count my blessings. Things are in such a good place in my life right now. So much different from where I was just one year ago. My work is amazing and big changes are coming, but I am so excited for new opportunities. My family is actually good too. We are getting along and my mom is feeling pretty good. My brother and I are talking again and that just makes my soul happy. My church family is seriously the very best. I love the people God has put in my path! My friends are amazing - real life & bloggy. God has filled my heart with so much joy. I can't help but spew about it.

 

And speaking of joy....I got these babies in the mail over the weekend. Sweet Erin's hubby made these for me! I have been lusting over earrings like these on Etsy for over a year but never took the plunge. The best news is: if you like these and want to purchase some YOU CAN for only $10 here.

I haven't linked up with my boo Shanna in a while, and since I'm feeling all sorts of random today this works out perfectly. Plus, I love that girl. Seriously, if you don't know her she is the most fashionable, absolutely sweetest, loving, supportive and genuine person. She's definitely one of my dream blates!

 

Random 1: I am totally one of those annoying East Coast people who blabs about TV shows all over my Twitter & Instagram before my West Coast homies get to watch. SORRY! The Voice is probably the main one that I get sucked into tweeting about...and last night I may have expressed how upset I was about Matthew going home. I couldn't help it! Don't hate me, friends!

I've seen these little "I Believe..." posts floating around and I always start one, but never finish it. It's hard to sum up everything I believe into 20 bullet points. Then I realized I was being a crazy OCD person and just ended my list; so here you have what I believe in TODAY!

Random Wednesday

HUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMP DAY is such a bright spot in the week!! My work week is flying by. After being off on Friday for my STL trip, Monday was a whirlwind and yesterday I spent the first half of the day filming commercials for work, then basically listened to this magicalness the rest of the day. I'm in love with it already...but did we really think I would hate it??? Let's be real.

 

I just want to touch on a few random things today, since it is random Wednesday after all! First and foremost, let's discuss Carrie Underwood...specifically her legs. I am obsessed with her gorgeousness already and that voice? Heavenly! But those legs? OMGGGG The things I would do to get those legs! I am cursed with the body from my dad's side of the family - short and squatty. My legs have always been my trouble area and I hate them. I wonder how much I would have to run to make these legs happen??

 

 

My baby brother is coming to crash at my place for a couple weeks until he gets an apartment...long story involving lots of family drama...but I am excited! A) because I love him but mainly because B) I have LOTS of little projects I want done around the house and I need a handy man so I'm putting him to work! It's been about 9 years since we lived together so it could get interesting...

 

 

17 Days until Football Season BABY!!!! I changed my cover photo on Facebook to this yesterday and I got so crunk just seeing it. I can't wait to be back in Neyland.

Random facts for today:

1. This morning I went a wee bit crazy buying Braves shirts on clearance. BUT THEY WERE ON SALE, I HAD TO!

 

2. My week has been consumed with work projects and planning a big 50th surprise birthday party for my sweet daddy this weekend.

 

3. I made a kick ass new running playlist last night! I am going to test out tonight and try my damnedest to run 5 miles. It's been a HOT minute since I ran 5 miles so, wish me luck! I'll share the playlist with you tomorrow!

 

4. There is an ant crawling across my computer screen as we speak...

 

5. I am one happy girl these days...a sweet surprise in the form of these Ray Bans I have been lusting over may or may not have a lot to do with why I'm so happy.

 

 

Random Wednesday

I'm stuck at work today...just dying a slow death as the time ticks on sloooooowly. My sleep pattern is beyond off these days. And when you're 3 Diet Cokes into the day and still about to nod off, it sounds like power nap in the breakroom time.

 

Tonight I am going to Spirited Art to drink wine and paint a cute little peacock picture with some girlfriends. After exhaustion + wine kicks in, I will hopefully sleep like a baby tonight.

Y'all know about my country boy thing, right? I mean have you met me? I'm just a tad bit Luke Bryan obsessed.

 

Well I have a new one for you! Thomas Rhett, my true country girls probably know him already. He's just a baby at 23 and he's the son of country singer Rhett Akins. He was the opening act when we went to see Jake Owen & Jason Aldean about a month ago. (Sadly, we missed him because my date & I opted to keep pre-gaming...oops.) LOVE his new song though! We listened to it over and over over at the lake on Monday. Check it out!

Next up - my goals for June and I really have to hit these hard because my "in moderation" skills have been way off the past couple months.

Focus on Your Happy - Random Wednesday

Get ready for the ultimate RANDOM Wednesday post....    I warned you....

Your homegirl here goes through a tough breakup in her life, gets close to Jesus again and all of a sudden I'm practically Dr. Phil & Oprah's lovechild over here spouting off positivity and motivational for all in need. But really, it's what I'm living these days. I can promise you that I have at least a couple tough days in a two week period (that's probably low-balling it too). And by a tough day I mean one of the following things happens: a) tears b) binge eating c) binge drinking d) self hate. Life is hard. Every single day is a struggle with my weight right now. My mom goes back for her (hopefully) final PET scan June 10th to see if the 2nd round of chemo and radiation worked. My love life...welllllll it's complicated. I'm broke, like gonna have to get a 2nd job this summer broke. The past week I've been stressed out. Zits everywhere, chocolate fest, crying to Tilly stressed. Pity party of ONE right here please.

 

 BUT today I want to focus on the positive! When you spend your Monday being a whiny baby about your silly little troubles, then a major natural disaster happens and people LOSE THEIR LIVES, you feel like a jackass. Let's face it - I'm alive and I'm free, who wouldn't wanna be me? (bonus points, if you can name that song)

 

Blogging is about community and girls helping girls. It brings us together by sharing our stories with each other. I know this is a random rambling post, but my point is we have all "bad" stuff going on in our lives. On the flip side, we all have great things happening too. Try to focus on the good. And really I'm talking to myself just as much as anyone.

#3 - Let's talk makeup!

Ms. Linny asked me to try out some Mark. makeup, so the past 2 weeks I've been trying out all my new goodies from her. I gotta admit, I'm not typically an Avon girl so when she asked I was skeptical. But I've actually been impressed with the quality of the products.

 

If you need a new mascara I HIGHLY recommend the Scanda-Lash Go-To Mascara! I LOVE IT! The brush doesn't allow clumps, and it's perfect for your bottom lashes. I've worn it for a night out and it doesn't smudge on the bottom either, which has always been a problem for me in the past with other brands.

Then there's the gorgeous colors in this On the Dot Neutral Eye Color Compact! They are so pretty, and go on very smoothly, yet looks very defined. I wore the darker purple shade to church a couple weeks ago and got so many compliments.

This is probably one of my favorite products I've tried - the Get a Tint Tinted Moisturizer. It's SPF 15, it's moisturising but doesn't leave a greasy feel and it covers up all my zits! SOLD!

 

Just a thought, if you are in the market for any of these products I would recommend trying Mark. Plus, they are affordable AND they have cute shoes, clothes and jewelry. I will definitely be trying more items from them. Get in touch with Linny and she can get you an order together!

Friday Love

Wow, I am soooooooo blown away and blessed and thankful and amazed at the incredible & supportive comments you guys left for me yesterday! When I say I have THE BEST friends ever, I really mean that. And that includes every single one of you who commented, tweeted, emailed or sent me a text. I love you all. So much. My heart was overflowing...and  I felt so loved which is so important! It's insane how much I love you all via the internet! hahaha And it's amazing how much stronger I felt after each comment! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!

 

I meant to do a real Friday post, but I got sucked into a meeting at work and just now got out soooo...ya know how that goes...
