Let's talk 50 Shades, shall we??? I am 3/4 of the way through 50 Shades Freed, which is the final book in the series. I know I am probably going to get kicked in the teeth for saying this, but I'm a little disappointed with this series overall. {Let the kicking begin!}
After hearing all the buzz about these books everywhere, I just expected something more exciting I guess. Really for me, it turned into more of a love story. I'm not a fan of reading romance books. I'm ok if somewhere in the story line a romance blossoms - that's usually hard to avoid - but I don't like a story line focused all on a love story. I know there were other aspects to these books and all the drama that came with Christian and Ana getting together, but for me it was really a Cinderella story. I don't want to say too much for those of you who haven't read it, but I honestly just expected more crazy sex stuff. Yes, it was kinky but for me the quantity of the sex was overwhelming and exhausting haha!
The books are definitely easy to read, but I guess I just didn't get sucked into the story like everyone else did. I'm still very curious at how they will make this into a movie that's not X-rated. The first book was my favorite because it was the most exciting I guess you could say.
Here are some of the people in talks for the movie roles via people.com. Who do you think would be best fit to play Christian & Ana on screen?
Am I the only one who feels this way about 50 Shades?? I'm just eehh with it, didn't hate it, but I wasn't over the moon for it either.

I don't think I could read it because it is so X-rated. I am a baby. Hahah :)
Interesting to hear you didn't like it!!
Yep. Gonna kick you.
Jusssst kidding. I won't. I think Anna Kendrick would be the perfect Ana and Matt Bomer would make the best Christian.
K. I think maybe too much buzz and expectations ruined it for you, cause I looooved it! I fell in love with the characters and the love story, myself.
I'm not up with celebrities, but I'd like to see the Rachel girl in the bottom right, and anybody but Ryan Gosling. He's so overplayed!! Now THAT might get me a kick in the teeth! :)

I loved it as well but then again Im a sucker for a love story!!! I hate that you werent totally loving it but no everyone is going to like it! And if love stories arent your thing that is perfectly fine :)
I have to agree with Shannon above! Mr. Matt Bomer would make a perfect Christian! He was who I thought of the whole time I read... and that was before I saw people suggesting he should have the movie role! As far a Ana... I like Lucy Hale... but Im not as picky about her lol! Mmmm Mr. Bomer though... can't wait to see him in Magic Mike! It's nice to pretend he isnt a man lover!
I am SO with you... I got suckered into reading all three, and I thought they were terrible!! The second book was the least bad because it had kind of a plot, but not really. They were just..... bad. But I'll of course go see the movie. Matt Bomer is definitely my choice for Christian, and I picture Amanda Seyfried as Ana. We'll see!
I think you just became my best friend. I've not read it and won't and that's mostly because the actual literary reviews absolutely BOMB it. Seems like a literal trainwreck to me - sort of like you can't help but look but no matter how you look it's still bad. Ha - now i'm gonna get kicked right? :)
I just started reading the first one for a book club... I'm not far enough to make up my mind yet :)
I'm a new follower!

I haven't read it and I won't MOSTLY because EVERYONE keeps talking about it. Usually books/movies/tv shows don't live up to all the hype that people give them so I don't usually read/watch them. It's sad but USUALLY they aren't as good as everyone makes them seem. That, and everyone keeps comparing them to Twilight, and I think Twilight is the worst movie EVER!
Okay so at first I thought the writing was terrible, it got better as I read (or it grew on me). I actually grew very tired of all the sex all the time. I mean come on...
I was just wanting more story less hanky panky.
Glad I read it though to see what the fuss was about.
Believe it or not, I haven't even read any of those books!
i'm not that deep into the series yet, because i'm reading some other books right now, but based on what i've read so far, i'd say ryan gosling would make an EXCELLENT christian grey. i don't have an opinion on the female character yet. i'll let you know how i feel about the books once i've really had a chance to dig into them! :)
You're the first person I've heard that didn't like it. I'm refusing to read it because of the hype. I know it will never be as amazing as everyone has built it up to be, and I am also slightly uncomfortable with reading porn along side the rest of America.
I am not going to read it. I can watch Housewives and get that shit.
I've only read the first two and I thought that the book should have ended at that! I think the 3rd book was reaching for readers. And I will take Chris Pine as Christian please :)
I could not agree more - I have like 150 pages left of the last one and cannot wait to be finished. they have not "wowed" me either - i kinda wonder why and how they got so popular and she overuses words and phrases. rant over.
no idea on ana - nor could i care. but christian - MATT BOMER - google him. you will melt and 100% want to leave your man for him.
I felt the same way! I actually read the series back in the beginning of April. I wont lie, i couldn't put them down. However, she is a horrible writer! I had to know what happened but honestly was totally disappointed with the series and am surprised by the number of people that think it's the best series they've ever read! Just my opinion though ;-)

I never even considered reading it. Not because it's x-rated.. i guess it just never interested me.. i didn't even think about it really.. good to know i'm not missing out.
The writing is the worst, but the story and characters had me from the very beginning. I read all three books in a month. I was sad when it ended. Christian Grey stole my heart...I am a sucker for a fairytale like story!! But, I did kinda want to kick you! Kidding!!
I loved it. I know I know....ridiculous, but I did!
I do think they exhaust me....I don't know a single person that could have as much sex as they do. Ha
I haven't read any of the series, but whenever anything like that is being talked about everywhere, I like to wait until all the noise dies down, then I can read it in peace, haha! From what I've heard though, it sounds like it'd be annoying and hard to read, but we'll see!
I just finished the series and I agree with you on the too much sex part. I found myself quickly skimming over some of it because I was just thinking ENOUGH already...we get it! You have sex like 8372076916476 a day! Lol. However, I did enjoy the love story part of it...I was intrigued by Christian and wanted to know why he was so royally screwed up in the head. So overall, I enjoyed it! Although I thought the whole Hyde kidnapping Mia was kind of lame.
OH, and I agree...how will they even turn it into a film?!?! I've been wondering this all week.....
