Insta{LOVE} Weekend Recap

Let's talk weekend, even though today is your Tuesday, it's my Monday. I had such a good long weekend y'all. Probably the best weekend I've had in a long time. I drank too much alcohol, ate way too much horrible food, danced a little, hung out with my family & some good friends, caught up on sleep and saw a good movie. Whew - that's a lot to cover in 3 days!

Before I start just showering you with my weekend pictures, let's talk about the movie Savages.

Let me just start by saying that I STILL HAVE NOT SEEN Magic Mike! Tragic, I know. It's killing me! I am going this coming weekend fo sho. But yesterday I was with Skye and there's no way I was talking him into that one, so we decided on Savages. I have been intrigued by this movie ever since I saw the first preview. I don't want to ruin it if you haven't seen it, but I loved it! I was really impressed with Blake Lively in this one. I'm not a Gossip Girl fan, so I've never seen much of her work, but this was a bit of a wild role and I thought she nailed it.  (My only advice ~ It's a bit graphic - language, sex, drugs everything- so don't go with someone you might feel shy around.) Plus, staring at these two hotties didn't hurt!

Dear Friday's Letters - I know I've told you this before but I really do love you! Thank you to all my new readers who have come over from the link up!

Dear New Sunnies - You are super cute and I'm so glad I found you at Marshall's for $7.99. I feel like a bargain queen! #knockoffavis what what!

Dear hormones - if you could go easy on me this weekend, I would appreciate it. I cried this morning when I heard an ad for the Wounded Warrior project (although a worthy cause for tears, I don't need to be getting that upset!) Dear fat belly - If you could quit eating everything in sight, especially all the horrible bad for you things I would really be happy! Dear Mind - if you could cooperate with aforementioned fat belly that would be nice. Dear Zumba - you and I will be a movin' and groovin' bright and early tomorrow morning so that hopefully my muscles will look tight for the lake! Dear Bud Light Lime-arita - I'm coming for you this weekend! (again with the fat belly!)
Dear Dougie - Teach me how and then get out of my head, please & thank you!

The Day After The 4th of July

I know we are all sick of hearing "Happy 4th of July" and seeing pictures of fireworks, right? (Well except for me, because I love fireworks so I could look at those pictures all day.) Good thing I covered my fireworks pictures on Monday! I think I'm the only person who came back to work today, luckily I am off Monday though. Hello, my BFF 3 day weekend!

My day was pretty boring yesterday, I miss the days are big 4th parties. Everybody in my family was working - God Bless Firefighters & Police Officers who have to work holidays!And I know that a day off work is a day off work, but I'm not sure I like having a day off in the middle of the week. I did get my house cleaned, the laundry caught up and all that wifey jazz. I read a whole book - Jennifer Weiner's Fly Away Home. I love her! And I watched hours of the History Channel including The Presidents series. I felt it was my patriotic duty. I'm just really ready for the weekend at this point. Can I get an Amen? Mama is ready for a 3 day weekend!

Insta{LOVE} Weekend Recap

Howdy! I hope that nobody stroked out from the heat this past weekend. I think we officially broke a record here on Saturday and made it to 105. With 90% humidity that just feels like sweaty death. Luckily, I was at the lake so I kept myself in the water! 

First item of business for the day is that I'm guest posting today for Megan at Second Floor Living. Megan lives in South Africa - how awesome is that?? That's just one of the reasons I love her though. She's started this really neat series for the summer called Owning Your City. I'm over there today talking about how I own Knoxville. My weekend was awesome! Skye was off, and he has taken several weekends off this summer so we could spend more lake time together. I am going to be spoiled by this and probably will cry the next full weekend he has to work. We got to spend time with old friends who we don't get to see very often and watch fireworks to celebrate America. The 4th of July is probably my favorite holiday. I love the summer time, the cookouts, all the patriotic talk and of course the fireworks! We used to have a big 4th of July party at our house every year. We would shoot off our own fireworks (yes we are rednecks) and a friend of ours has even been known to stick bottle rockets in his butt cheeks and fire them off (if that doesn't say redneck then I don't know what does!). I wish I had a picture to show you of that, but sadly I don't. It was so much fun! This will be the 2nd year in a row that we have not had the party - makes me sad!
