5 on a Friday

{ONE}
Last weekend I read The Silent Wife. If you like a psychological type of thriller (very Gone Girl style) then I highly recommend this one to you! I love a book that keeps me guessing! (and if you're wondering why the book looks to beat up, it's because it's a library book. Yes, I still check out library books because I am a nerd).

{TWO}
Last Friday night at WinterJam, I got introduced to some new bands. They are Christian bands, but their music sounds very secular - just with a positive message. You know I like boy bands - HELLO HARRY STYLES - and now I've found a new one to love! Tenth Avenue North. I can't stop listening to them.

{THREE}
I posted this on my Instagram {@nikkib918} last night so you know what that means? Back on the weight loss wagon! For real this time. All excuses aside. I'll be back in the land of the skinny in no time. Prepare yourselves for workout posts...because I'm sure they will be following this outburst.

{FOUR}
Can I get an amen?

{FIVE}
And speaking of Hebrews....
BEST TRANSITION EVER!!
Amy posted this verse last night and it really got me thinking. And when I get to thinking, you are the poor souls who reap the rewards :) In order to grow- not just in our relationships with God but in general, we must be disciplined. In order for me to stick to losing this weight, I will have to be overly disciplined with my choices. Same goes for growing my relationship with God, I must choose to spend time with him and in His word. It's a sort of training program that helps me share in his holiness.
Hebrews 12:10-11
10 They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Happy weekend my loves! It's going to be sunny and 65 here so I am going to embark on my first outside run in MONTHS - hopefully I don't die. XOXO

Love this.. that last bit about discipline in your spiritual life as well as healthy lifestyle-- amen! It's the hardest part but it's the most delivering.

I'm reading The Silent Wife right now too--and MINE is also from the library!! Woot woot for library sisters! And the hebrew thing kills me. I'll make sure I transition the "setting the coffee pot" duty to J. He's up later anyway--more time to remember to set the pot! Lol! As for the discipline thing. It's funny to me that in some parts of my life I'm crazy disciplined. Like the writing bit. I'm very disciplined. I take it very seriously and treat it very much like a job. But sticking to any kind of fitness routine? Forget it. It's like I have no discipline at all. I think it's partly because it hurts--and I have a hard time forcing myself to do anything that hurts me. Maybe I'll get on the bandwagon with you though-I really just want to feel better in my body--not necessarily how it looks--but how it feels. I just want to be able to do things without being stiff/etc. Good luck to you, friend. I know you can do it. You can do anything for 3 months--and once you hit that 3 month mark--it's become a habit. I know you can do it!! <3 <3 love you!

Hahaha omg Hebrew. That's hilarious. John does make me coffee on the weekends! Him and Hawkeye love mornings (yuck) so they get up and then bring me my coffee in bed. Which sounds sweet but I think they really do it to save themselves because I'm the meanest person alive until I have my coffee. I've been known to chuck furry baby off the bed if she tries to lick me awake.

I LOVE Tenth Avenue North! Have you heard their song The Struggle? It's one of my favorites!

And love you girl! Loved your comment on my blog and these thoughts too. It's so true, sometimes it can be sooo hard to get the discipline to change up our routine. Whether it's eating healthier (raising my hand), working out more, reading the Bible more, praying more, all that good stuff. God is SO faithful to help us develop that discipline though. Love Him :)

And love you! Thanks for the inspiration today. Have a great weekend!!

Bring on the work out posts! Getting back on the weight loss kick is the hardest part, but once you start seeing results you won't want to stop what you're doing. Have a great weekend!

I love getting books from the library! At ours you can browse them online and then they'll hold whatever you want at the desk for you. Heck yeah... no searching!

I love the fact that you still check books out of the library, that is awesome girl. And the book sounds interesting. I know they say don't to judge a book by it's cover, but the cover actually intrigues me! Good for you for getting back on the weight loss wagon. I got my butt back in gear in November so us gals have to stick together and keep motivated. Lastly, I love the e-card, hilarious! "hebrew" - ha, brilliant. I hope you have a great weekend babe, xo!

How similar was Silent Wife to Gone Girl? It was up for a book club option this month, but the description sounded WAY too much like Gone Girl and we nixed it. Oh and library books? Yes please! Who wants to keep wasting money on buying?!
