I Be Up In Da Gym

When I be up in da gym, I am nothing without some crunk music to keep my momentum going. Some of you on Instagram asked to see a sample of my workout playlist so I wanted to share some of my songs from this past Sunday's workout with you. Fair warning: I like a variety of music so there's a little bit of everything in here, and I switch it up depending on what type of workout I'm doing. Pure Cardio for me requires rap, hip-hop, pop music because it's fast paced.
Warm Up: 15-20 minutes on treadmill
Eric Church: Two Pink Lines
Eric Church: Drink in My Hand
Eric Church: Livin Part of Life
Jason Aldean: My Kinda Party
Eric Church: Keep On

Strength Training/Weights 30-45 mins
Jay-Z: Dirt Off Your Shoulder
Jay-Z: One to the Next One
Justin Bieber: Boyfriend
Justin Bieber: Beauty & A Beat
Kanye West: Stronger
Kanye West: Gold Digger
Kayne West: All of the Lights
Justin Moore: Redneck Side
Justin Moore: Bait a Hook
Lil Wayne: Got Money
Lil Wayne: A Milli

Core: Planks/ABs 10-15 mins
Luke Bryan: Welcome to the Farm
Luke Bryan: Country Girl Shake It For Me
Jason Aldean: Johnny Cash
Flyleaf: I'm So Sick
Old Crow Medicine Show: Motel in Memphis (this one is a little slow)
3 Doors Down: Right Where I Belong

Cool Down: Treadmill or Stationary Bike (I hate elliptical) then stretch 15-20 mins
ZBB: Chicken Fried
ZBB: Whiskey's Gone
John Legend: Used to Love You
John Legend: Alright
Carrie Underwood: Good Girl
And there you have it! I took these pictures randomly when I would think of it, so the times probably don't line up. This was a minimal cardio day for me too. Here are a few suggestions on my personal favs for specific exercises. These are just ideas, because I do constantly like to mix it up with my workout music and depending on what kind of music phase I'm in. Right now I'm in more of a country phase so all my rap music is outdated, and I have less rock stuff.

Heavy Cardio: Rap/Hip-Hop
Lil Jon - Get Crunk
Young Jeezy - Lose My Mind
Big Sean - Dance
Dorrough - Wired to the T
Roscoe Dash/Soulja Boy - All The Way Turned Up
Hurricane Chris - Halle Berry (She Fine)
Waka Flocka Flame - anything from him
Crime Mob - mostly anything from them, Rock Yo Hips is one of my personal favs
Young Money - anything from them

Core/ABs: Faster Paced Pop/Country
Adam Levine - Moves Like Jagger
Luke Bryan - anything faster of his
Lady Gaga
Justin Timberlake - anything faster of his
Florida Georgia Line - anything faster
Old Crow Medicine Show - faster stuff

Weights: Rock, Alternative, Rap, Faster Country
JET - LOVE them, especially their Get Born cd
Cage the Elephant - No Rest for the Wicked
The Game
Chris Brown
Breathe Carolina - Blackout

What do ya think? Does that help you with some ideas for your workout mix?

I need some good music for my work outs! I just bought a new iPod that has radio because I was tired of listening to the same music over and over. I'll be adding some of these songs to my playlist tonight! :)

I'm all about the rap girl! We pretty much have the exact same playlist, though I normally can't do country when I'm on the treadmill. If I go for a walk around the neighborhood, definitely country. But for the treadmill I need rap or some Britney! Anything by Weezy gets me going big time.

I definitely need fast paced if I am doing cardio. I usually stick with rap/hip-hop. Your selections are right up my alley!

i am not a big country fan (please still be my friend) but love me some hip hop and J Biebs when I'm working out!

I like club/electronic music or alternative music for cardio and rap/hip hop or hard rock for strength training. I love country music but I haven't found it useful when I'm working out. I haven't thought to listen to Jet - that's a good idea!

Kanye and Jay-Z are my favorite to work out to. I also love mashups like GirlTalk and things along those lines.

My ipod is all over the place at the gym, but when Girl Talk and other DJ's come on the jams keep me going! I find I like mixes of songs, so that I don't get bored.
