Focus on Your Happy - Random Wednesday

Get ready for the ultimate RANDOM Wednesday post....    I warned you....

Your homegirl here goes through a tough breakup in her life, gets close to Jesus again and all of a sudden I'm practically Dr. Phil & Oprah's lovechild over here spouting off positivity and motivational for all in need. But really, it's what I'm living these days. I can promise you that I have at least a couple tough days in a two week period (that's probably low-balling it too). And by a tough day I mean one of the following things happens: a) tears b) binge eating c) binge drinking d) self hate. Life is hard. Every single day is a struggle with my weight right now. My mom goes back for her (hopefully) final PET scan June 10th to see if the 2nd round of chemo and radiation worked. My love life...welllllll it's complicated. I'm broke, like gonna have to get a 2nd job this summer broke. The past week I've been stressed out. Zits everywhere, chocolate fest, crying to Tilly stressed. Pity party of ONE right here please.

BUT today I want to focus on the positive! When you spend your Monday being a whiny baby about your silly little troubles, then a major natural disaster happens and people LOSE THEIR LIVES, you feel like a jackass. Let's face it - I'm alive and I'm free, who wouldn't wanna be me? (bonus points, if you can name that song)

Blogging is about community and girls helping girls. It brings us together by sharing our stories with each other. I know this is a random rambling post, but my point is we have all "bad" stuff going on in our lives. On the flip side, we all have great things happening too. Try to focus on the good. And really I'm talking to myself just as much as anyone.

Random enough for you??

It's so true that we all have something "bad" going on at some point. It is very difficult to focus on the good. I know I was thrown for a loop by something that happened last week and now I have kind of been in this weird rollercoaster of good/bad moments. It is very hard to be positive but we can do it :) Thanks for the inspiration and motivation.

Looks like we handle our bad days the same four ways. Your outlook on everything is incredibly refreshing. I just know others, besides me, will read this and appreciate it for what it is - THE TRUTH and something we all need to remember. You're amazing and I love when you share real shit like this. As always, you fucking rock.

Saw where you had pinned the inspiration quote on Pinterest the other day...love it! YOU are an inspiration to me!! I wouldn't have fit in my wedding dress if it hadn't been for those monthly miles challenges. And now, I gotta get back at it cause this "vacation" I've been on has not helped! ugh.

Think positive and keep on truckin'! You have the right idea, girlfriend. Sending prayers for your mom that her pet scan comes back clear!

I try to focus on the positive too, when I'm being silly about something, but I think it's ok to wallow. Of course there is always someone who has it worse, that will sadly never stop being true. But at the same time, that doesn't diminish the pain you're feeling right now. And that isn't wrong. Yes have perspective that it isn't the end of the world and you will survive but also remember that the pain is real and it's ok to face it and be upset and try to heal. You're allowed to be hurt, even if it isn't the worst kind of hurt someone is experiencing right now.

I love so many of those quotes.. I need to be reminded that life is too short often, because it really is for me to worry about so many other things that doesn't matter.

Hopefully life slows down and gives you a smoother path. That's upsetting that you have been so down and stressed lately.

That is exactly how I am living. Sure, a couple weeks ago I was crying and was totally depressed about something but then again I realized there is really so much more to be thankful for. And I realized that when that unfortunate even happened in my life a couple weeks ago I was also blessed to have a good support system. I have been living a pretty positive life since last year when I decided to stop counting my troubles and problems and start counting my blessings. And I realized that the more I counted my blessings, I always had more blessings to count. Does that make sense? The Magic by Rhonda Byrne helped me change my way of thinking. It is really great book and one with positive results. Ever since I got my hands on it last year I've been practicing gratitude ever since. Happiness is an attitude and a way of thinking. Was there ever a time when you woke up on the wrong side of the bed and pretty much the whole day was upside down with one booboo right after another? I had those too but only because maybe I kept counting all the bad stuff that happened during that day. Anyhow, I just wanted to say that I love how you have decided to focus on the positive today. =) Hopefully it becomes a daily activity for you. Sending you positive vibes and sunshine. =)
