30 Miles in 30 Days Challenge - AKA I sucked in May

I SUCKED IN MAY!!! Whew...feels good to get that off my chest! Okay so during March-April-May I felt like I was ready to make changes with my ever growing body and stick with my goals...but NOPE I wasn't. Over the past 3 months, if I would have stuck to my goals I would have lost weight and probably been a lot happier with my body image right now. Let me just tell you that sometimes it takes a dang scare tactic to set me into action and WOW hello my 25 lbs heavier than summer body in the same bikini....Yikes.... I barely have words. Not cute...and it honestly felt terrible to be ashamed. So...moving forward I am seriously I swear going to take this summer to get myself in better shape/health and get fully back on track <------ Are you sick of hearing me say this yet?? Thank you ALL for supporting this link up and supporting me!

BIG NEWS - since I am going to be really focusing on myself this summer, I am turning over hosting the 30 Miles in 30 Days Linky to Manda from The Adventures of Manda & Mr. Howie. if you don't already know her, you will love her. Manda is a HUGE source of inspiration and daily support for my crazy ways and she and I originally started this challenge together, just the two of us so I know she will be a fabulous new host! And since most people wanted to keep going for June...this works out. Here is her button for next week-
Adventures of Manda and Mr Howie

I will still be working out - obviously - and I might even try to link up, but I really want to mix up my workouts and probably even work with a trainer to reach my goals. I am actually going to being doing a bootcamp with a local trainer who is AMAZING! She's a UT soccer player alum and is Under Armour endorsed. You've seen these awesome girl power UA ads? THIS IS HER! Starting Saturday - so excited!

I basically got defeated and gave up this month. I couldn't tell you the last time I hit the gym at 5:30am, I haven't been able to suffer through my Insanity workouts in a week. All I have done in the past week is Zumba. My mind completely got the best of me. I am thankful for fresh starts!

I sucked last month and I sucked even more this month! But next month, I am really sticking to it. I have to. No ifs or buts about it. ♥

You're going to love having a trainer! So excited for you!! That quote about fresh starts is awesome. Love it. We can all use that reminder! Your 15 miles are still bad a** in my opinion! Way to go girlie!

You are going to do great with a trainer. I had one when I was in college and did great..now..I don't have one and I suck.

Girl, I am with you. I have good weeks, and really, really lazy, beer-drinking, grub-inhaling ones. It's overwhelming because I look at me now (eww!) and I think about how I looked at 21 (when I was skinny mostly because I smoked a pack and a half a day), and I get frustrated because I want it to just happen. But, then I think, I really need to change the way I live - not just lose weight. I'm trying to focus on meal planning overall, and building muscle tone to increase my metabolism, and going for walks just because they make me feel good. Managing my blood sugars with my diabetes definitely complicates things, but I have got to stop letting that be an excuse. I have finally learned to just make myself do SOMETHING everyday - whether it's a 10 minute high intensity circuit, a 45 minute long walk, or some crunches here, and some leg lifts there and some arm work outs 3 hours later. I've just got to get it in somehow. I'm not good at just blocking off a chunk of time to knock it out. Anyway, I'm rambling ... but just do SOMETHING even if it's a little something. Try to focus on you and how you feel and your mood and be proud of yourself!!!

you've been so busy. it's OK that you didn't meet the challenge!! you made it halfway there. that is fine! "if at first you don't succeed, try again" and we all know you will work really hard to reach your goal and we'll be there with you to read along!

Well, you went more miles than I did this month! I have been so lazy it's sooooooo bad!!! I will say, your determination is incredible!! You clearly want this and I think you are doing a great great job motivating yourself!! You can do it!!!

15 is awesome!! And that's so exciting you're going to be working out with Sarah!! I see her stuff on fb all the time! I'm trying to get my butt in gear too :/

Oh hush, you've been killing it between all the Insanity and zumba! AND you still managed to get some miles in too! Sounds like a successful month in my book. Thanks for starting this whole challenge, it has really helped me a lot. And trust me, you're totally preaching to the choir - I am the spokesperson for people who constantly get on and off the train. ;) All that matters is you keep getting back on!

You have still done amazing! I love that quote!

Aww sad that you are not going to be hosting the linkup anymore, but happy for you that you've decided to focus on yourself for a while. I know that you will be successful! xo

You still did so great! Go for you that you decided to focus on yourself! You got this girl!

I'm so sorry you feel like you are defeated! I think you have done really well and I think weight/fitness is a life-long struggle. At least it is for me. I've not accomplished my 52 miles in May this month either and I would normally push myself to the max to get it done, but I just can't. There is no way I can physically get it all in. With not feeling well this month, I just didn't get it accomplished. I'm bummed, but I know there is next month! Keep up the hard work! Can't wait to hear about your training sessions.

Quantity is not always the most important thing to look at. Girlfriend - you did more days of Insanity than I could even have nightmares about. You are AMAZING.

Melissa Blake said...

You can do it...good luck and have fun!!

I'm not gonna lie I am a little sad you won't be hosting!! I am like you though it is hard to hit that whenever you are mixing up your workouts. I am pumped for you and your new tranier!

you know what you need? a hot gym boy to stare at....that is singularly the ONLY reason I make it to the gym at 530 these days

Guess what? You're doing a hell of a lot better than I am! LOL! You've got this girl. I'm rooting for you!

I figure as long as you're working at it then that's all that matters. Good job!

We can all get discouraged! I've been super sad that I can't run due to shin splints, so I haven't been feeling up to par with my work outs either. Not to mention that I fell off the healthy food wagon for the last week. Just know that we ALL do it. Don't beat yourself up because that just makes it worse. You are BEAUTIFUL no matter what ;)

Love this under armor inspiring picture and words.

I will run 6 miles tomorrow morning!!!

Hey lady! You and I are in the ssaaammme boat. I would be so much happier now if I had stuck to my Spring goals. Oh well. All we can do is move on and improve. I just added you on MFP and I just bought a Polar heart rate monitor. I am excited to be working together to cute NOtivation! Yay for new friends!
