September is hands down my favorite month of the year...as I've mentioned a time or two already. We get football, the beginning of fall weather, boots, my birthday, Labor Day - it's just the best in my book.
However, September also now brings a somber memory of that fateful day on 9/11 twelve years ago. It's ironic because when I first started my blog back in 2011, one of my very first posts was about the 10th anniversary of 9/11. I am such a huge baby about this day, so don't mind me when I'm over here crying all day. I love WAY too many firemen & policemen in my life so this really hits home.
We all remember where we were when we heard the godawful news, and how it made us feel. We remember the people on TV amidst the chaos - their faces tear stained, ash covered and their lives forever changed. We remember the fear of uncertainty about what might come next. We remember the heroes. We remember the fallen ones - the ones that lost their lives just by showing up to work, or sacrificed their own life to try and save another. We will never forget.

I was in living in NYC for the one year anniversary and it was...indescribable.
Such a beautiful tribute (today and in 2011). I still think about it often and it still blows my mind!

Still can't believe it was so long ago, feels like it just happened since it still resonates with us all.
<3 We will always remember! Love what you wrote!
I can't believe it has been 12 years. Never forget.
Definitely a day that hits home for me and has changed my life in so many ways. Wanna see you soon girl <3
This day always makes my heart heavy.
This day gets me too. I just can't with it. The day it happened I bawled all day and continue to.
I'm the sameeee way, I already balled my eyes out on the way to work while the radio station was playing some audio from the day. I most certainly will never forget.
totally agree!! I will never ever forget that day and I had chills this morning while the morning show I listen to was playing the tribute... it is still so fresh and vivid in my mind!
Beautiful tribute you wrote. I think it's very much on everyone's minds today.

The Tiny Heart
Great post lady...so important to always remember
One of my most emotionally overwhelming experiences was going to Ground Zero. I can't describe the different waves of emotions I experienced while we were there. Beautiful but so sad.
This day still gets to me. So many emotions and it really motivated me to to live each day fully so it is two fold.
Beautifully written.
