A couple weeks ago I placed a fabulous order with Sephora – and I told y’all all about it here. I’m still giddy over all my goodies and I spent some time this weekend re-organizing my make up to make room for my new stuff. Check out this hot mess that I was working with in my medicine cabinet – yikes! It looks a little better now, but still not quite organized enough for my liking. Hence, why I don't yet have an "after" picture for you.

Before - looks like a bomb went off and just threw stuff anywhere/everywhere |
One of things I ordered was a Clinique set – kind of like the ones you get when you spend X amount of dollars that includes a lip something, mascara, an eyeshadow, etc. Except this one wasn’t trial size. I know that you are probably thinking right about now that Clinique is for your 16 year old face and maybe not your 27 year old face. BUT I really like their products. Their eye makeup remover is a favorite of mine, and their products don’t break my skin out. I have sensitive skin so that’s super important to me with makeup and products.

This is what I got |
One of the nifty little gems included in this set was a gel blush. I wear blush everyday, but I’ve never really ventured outside the normal powdery kind. I was overly excited to try this gel blush, even though the color seemed WAY too dark for my pale winter skin. I tried this gel blush on Saturday and I loved it! It took me a couple tries to get the right amount of gel to look good, but I think I finally got it down.

Not gonna lie, I was a little apprehensive of "black honey" that doesn't sound like a match with pale winter skin. |

Then it actually looked black... |

Not the best coloring picture, but you can see the final result - not too dark at all. Much more pinkish than I expected. |
I really like it! So tell me, do you gel when you blush? Or am I (like usual) the last person catching onto this awesome thing?

I am a gel blush failure. It always ends up looking streaky on me, but I'm going to call that user error :). Looks great on you!
Hm, never tried this! Though my mom always used to use lipstick in a pinch when I was younger. Trick is in the blending.
It looks great on you! I have used probably every kind of blush under the sun (I may have an addiction). Benefit Posey Tint is a new fave. It's more liquid than gel.
Looks pretty on you!! I've never seen that before. I'm going to have to check Sephora out - the hype is crazyyy!! I don't have one near me (I don't think) so am so weird about buying things online...especially expensive things...what if I don't like it?!
Anywho - you look perdy! :)

You will have to pry my tarte cheek strain from my cold, dead fingers. I will never touch powder blush again. though I could be tempted to stray just a bit for this... It's really a lovely color. Also I love clinique, and their acne solutions line is the only thing that males me look human. I don't know when they got such a bad rep?
I use a gel/liquid blush by Almay. Love it!
Liz - I am in agreement that the trick is in the blending!
Cami - Sephora is amazing - at least I think so! They just put one near me a couple years ago but I've been ordering online from them forever. If you become an "insider" you get lots of special offers, and a free gift on your birthday!
Cally - I'm not sure when Clinique got such a bad rep either, but I'm still a pretty faithful user. I love their acne solutions too!
Thank you guys for feedback! Now I'm going to have to branch out and try other kinds of gel/liquid blush since I know how great it is!
I love it when others apply it to my face, but I flop miserably in any self-gel attempt.
I still use powder blush... I had a friend in school who would use a little bit of lipstick on her cheeks for blush. Thought she was nuts, until that gel stuff popped up. Anywho, that color looks nice on you!
